2024 Ig Nobel Awards 2024. From pension fraud to plastic plants, this year's ig nobel prizes recognize science that can be lighthearted, surprising or unusual. Ten new ig nobel prizes were awarded at the 24th first annual ig nobel prize ceremony, held at the massachusetts institute of technology.

The award ceremony features miniature operas, scientific demos, and the 24/7 lectures. This year, there are 286 candidates for the nobel peace prize — 197 individuals and 89 organizations, the nobel committee said.
